Join the Expert by Experience (EbE) Board of the environMENTAL Project!
Are you passionate about mental health? Have you or someone close to you experienced mental health challenges, particularly those influenced by environmental stressors like climate change, urbanisation, or the pandemic? If so, we invite you to become part of an exciting EU-funded research project that is exploring the complex relationship between the environment and mental health.
The environMENTAL Project aims to uncover how environmental factors impact mental health across the lifespan. By joining the Expert by Experience (EbE) Board, you will contribute to shaping the future of mental health research and ensure that lived experiences are central to the project’s outcomes.
As an EbE Board Member, you will:
- Provide knowledge, insight, and expertise based on your experiences with mental health challenges to guide research activities.
- Influence the development of innovative tools like the StreetMind digital health assessment tool and virtual reality interventions being developed by the environMENTAL project.
- Work alongside researchers and other stakeholders to ensure the project’s outcomes are meaningful and relevant.
- Participate in quarterly online meetings, providing feedback on project materials, research proposals, and public engagement activities.
Who can apply?
We are looking for individuals with personal or supportive lived experience of mental health challenges. While we are interested in those who have experienced symptoms such as anxiety, depression, stress, or substance abuse (particularly in response to environmental stressor), we are also open to applicants who have experienced other mental health challenges.
Benefits:
- £25 per hour for meeting attendance, with an additional £5 to cover internet expenses.

Time:
- This will require a commitment to attend quarterly meetings that typically last 1hr.
- Some preparation will be required before each meeting.
